The Leeds City Centre Vision Conference is being held at Saviles, Royal Armouries on Friday 15th October 2010. The Foundation is delighted to be working with Leeds City Council to encourage all delegates to take part in Change Leeds Week.
The aim of Change Leeds Week is to encourage individuals, organisations and companies to do something to help change Leeds. You might want to raise funds: have a dress down day at work; organise a fundraising event; abseil down a famous Leeds landmark. All money raised during the week will go towards a newly-launched "City of Leeds Fund" that will then make grants to local community groups, throughout the city, who help to change Leeds every day. What's more, thanks to a special initiative backed by the Cabinet Office, all the funds raised during this week will be matched £1 for £1. Alternatively you might want to get involved in some volunteering, cycle to work or donate food parcels to Leeds-based charities. All that we ask is that you do something to help Change Leeds. View the "how can I help" section for more information.
We will announce, at the Conference, how much has been raised during the week so we are keen to gather details of what you, the delegates have done. You can do this by emailing Amanda with details of what you are doing or you can just complete the attached pledge form and bring it with you on the day. Individuals wishing to make a donation can bring it with them on the day, or donate in advance on www.justgiving.com/changeleeds2010.
