Last year's Change Leeds Day was a tremendous success and we raised £20,000 to support community groups in Leeds. Our aim is to remind people of how, collectively we can change Leeds for the better so this year we are having a Change Leeds Week!
In 2010 many of our small charities and community groups are struggling to keep going during difficult times. These organisations work in the heart of our community tackling some of the city's most difficult issues and it is vital that we support them.
We urgently need your help to do this.....
- The Leeds Community Foundation challenge the people of Leeds to raise money for local charities during Change Leeds Week.
- For every £10 you raise we will add a further £10 *
- We guarantee that every penny will benefit those in need in Leeds
This year young people are getting involved too with 200 Leeds schools being invited to participate and do their bit to help their local community.
All of the money raised will be invested in the “City of Leeds Fund” a permanent fund held by the Foundation to support the people of Leeds now and forever.
* Thanks to a special initiative from the Office of the Third Sector (part of the Cabinet Office in Central Government), we will be able to match, £1 for £1, all funds raised through the Change Leeds initiative.
