Change Leeds Day took place on Friday 16th October 2009.
Its aim was to remind people of how, collectively, we can change Leeds for the better.
Although the event is now in the past, our eye is very much on the future and the need to raise funds to support local initiatives is still as real today, as it was on 16th October.
The challenge remains for as many individuals, organisations and companies to continue to raise as much money as possible to support local community projects in Leeds.
Anyone in Leeds can still have the chance to make a difference to the city in two different ways - you choose!
- Bring in loose change and make a donation and the Foundation will match it, £1 for £1
- Change your appearance through a Dress up / Dress down day, shave your beard, dye your hair and get sponsored along the way. A donation of £4 plus Gift Aid doubled by the Foundation becomes £10.
To donate online please go to www.justgiving.com/changeleeds.
Thanks to a special initiative from the Office of the Third Sector (part of the Cabinet Office in Central Government), we are able to match, £1 for £1, all funds raised through the Change Leeds initiative.
Your generous donations will be pooled and invested in a special “City of Leeds Fund” which will be used to support local community groups and charities who are working to make Leeds a better place for everyone. This is an endowment fund where the capital is invested and, each year, the Foundation will be able to make grants with the interest gained.
The City of Leeds Fund will continue to support local causes – forever.
